Sily (“Sily”, “we”, “us”) is a multiplayer quiz game that connects a TV display with players’ phones. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Sily TV app, the Sily web app (app.sily.tv), and our backend services.
Information we collect
Host account information. When a host signs in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account to identify your account and the quizzes you create.
Player information. Players join a room by entering a nickname of their choice. We do not require players to create an account or provide personal details.
Gameplay data. Room codes, quizzes, questions, submitted answers, scores, and timing, so we can run the game and show results.
Content you provide. If you generate a quiz from a PDF, we process that file to create questions. Uploaded files and generated images are stored in cloud storage.
Technical data. Standard logs such as device/browser type, IP address, and timestamps, used for security and reliability.
How we use your information
- To operate the game: create rooms, join players, deliver questions, and score answers in real time.
- To save and display the quizzes you create or choose.
- To generate quiz questions from content you upload.
- To keep the service secure, debug issues, and improve features.
Third-party services we use
We rely on trusted providers that process data on our behalf:
- Google — host sign-in (OAuth).
- OpenAI — generating quiz questions from uploaded content.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — storing uploaded files and images.
- Ably — real-time messaging between the TV and phones.
- MongoDB / cloud hosting — storing rooms, quizzes, and gameplay data.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
Active game rooms are short-lived and expire automatically. Account and quiz data is kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time using the contact below.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We restrict access to personal information to what is needed to run and support the service.
Children’s privacy
Sily is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Players participate using only a self-chosen nickname.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@sily.tv.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
